SOLO PERFORMANCES

Valerie L Hall playing harpsichord Government House

Admired for my beautifully-crafted recital programs, my goal is always to inspire and engage the listener.

I have been a featured soloist at provincial, national and international music festivals and have performed throughout Canada, in Germany, Belgium and the United States. Locally, I have appeared on almost every classical music series and have performed with various arts organizations, including: New Dance Horizons, Per Sonatori Baroque Ensemble, Regina Symphony Orchestra, Regina Symphony Chamber Players, Regina Philharmonic Chorus, University of Regina Choirs and Luther Bach Choir.

An enthusiastic ambassador for Canadian music, I have commissioned new works for organ and enjoy featuring these alongside traditional repertoire in my recital programs.

My reputation as an organist is built around my ability to discover and share each instrument’s most beautiful and compelling voice.

  • Hall's playing (Peteris Vasks' Viatore) was lush and sad, reminiscent of the twilight, while at the same time majestic.  There was a feeling of breathless stasis; what a wonderful gift for a performer to be able to give such a mood to an audience!

  • As one would expect, Valerie's programme was carefully planned, cleverly introduced, and beautifully played. The registrations were nothing short of amazing. This was truly an evening to be remembered.

  • This masterpiece was beautifully executed, showing Durufle's genius as a composer and Valerie's brilliance as an organist. Valerie is a wonderful artist whose talent warmed the hearts of all of those who attended her concert.
